New Slang Terms
« on: March 23, 2023, 05:05:50 PM »
How about a thread where we come provide the public service of explaining what new slang terms or phrases mean.

This thread could also be used for announcements about when it’s safe for our older posters (e.g guys who have shook Chad May’s hand) to use new slang terms, or conversely to come here and reinforce that certain slang terms should best be avoided by older posters until explicitly being told otherwise.

Punching the clown, or in its infinitive form "to punch the clown," refers to masturbation, especially of the male variety. See also, "to polish the bishop."

mid = middling, mediocre, dumb, lame, etc.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I know the kids these days are saying “based” but if I’m being completely honest I’m not entirely sure what it means

Having a kid in middle school or high school is also a suitable replacement

Rizz makes me laugh, but you and the rest of us, are too old to use it. What's even better than rizz are people who respond to someone trying to flex rizz and tag them as a sexual harizzer

I just remembered a year or two ago my bar trivia team missed out on first place because one of the categories was slang terms and none of us knew what the hell "no cap" meant.  The team that beat us had some youngsters and they got that question right.    :D

It really is!  I'm still equal parts embarrassed and pissed off about that moment.
