The Wichita contingent continues to out-pace the KC contingent.   If Rusty were still in town we'd have a better shot, but Wichita is a Juggernaut.

Yeah, but we brought in a ringer for this one.

ChiCat, you can go ahead and post some of the highlights.  That might trigger some more memories for me for when I write the blog entry anyway.

Or MIR.

Welllll, how'd it go?  Was he thrilled with his participation certificate? I bet there were tears.  We need details.

rumblings schulz took it in stride....rumblings currie maybe not so much....just rumblings folks, just rumblings

Did he send his shirt-tucking goons after you?

There was a time when things seemed dicey with Currie, but I think I calmed the waters with him.

We got there a bit later than originally planned and Trim, MakeItRain and I ended up at a table near the back.  This would work out well for our presentation.  Frank was talking to Kellis when we came in.  Kellis looks like a guy I would want to choke even if I didn't know who he was, but much moreso since I do.  $10 for a beer cup got the night going.  We probably frequented the beer table at least twice as much as the next closest people and our table was close so it was perfect.

We waited for kstate_pres to finish talking to Frank before Trim gave him the award.  I videotaped the presentation.  He posed for a picture with the giftcard for $39.99 (made out to kstate_pres)and _33's participation certificate.  Later we saw Currie carrying it around and he did not appear to find it as humorous.  He shot hate lasers from his eyes at our contingent (especially Trim).  Trim later informed him that he may get a gift at the KC event.

Schulz then went up to give the first speech and opened with a story about how you have to be careful what you put on twitter.  HenRob was there helping out and glad-handing.  We were waiting for Lon to go  :opcat: and it never came.  However, Wyatt at one point asked if there was any more chicken for HenRob  :surprised: :opcat:.  We then basically got pak'd the whole night and MIR was our DD from the event (nobody wants to be in ksubrians boat).  MIR took off and Trim and I explored the wonders of old town.  Nobody was choked though  :dunno:

There was that fuckktard from KAKE 10 wearing his University Daily Kansan gear and walking around laughing like he got over on us.

Also Chi forgot to include my conversation with QuezBert about Wyatt and chicken.  Being a brotha' I felt it was okay to ask him about Wyatt's chicken comment, but had to wait until all old folks were cleared out, I didn't want QuezBert to be accused of "playing the race card" by some hypersensitive cracker.  Anyway he didn't have much to say, he laughed and said "you know?" when I asked him if he did in fact eat more chicken.  For those of you who are slow about urban/hip hop culture "you know" is similar to "I know, right?"  BTW QuezBert sounds just like the character Beautiful from the Player Hater's Ball on Chappelle's Show.  He then proceeded to tell us about him not finding good chicken but he loves Big Ed's? burgers in Manhattan, but can't eat it often because the $8 burgers aren't good for his flow.  He then asked us to honor him this season similar to that in which Trim and Chi honored Denis & Lu last season.

There are also rumors & possibly photographed proof of an athletic department staffer getting iced.

Wasn't he born in the US?  That's like me asking to have someone honor me with a Danish flag at my events.

Yep, couldn't remember Samuels' connection (either the country or the reason) but knew there was something.

Big D's.

Was in there last week, and found out that if you eat two cowboy burgers, you get to write your name on the wall.  Well guess whose name is on the wall?  Denny and Jake, with "KSU DOBERMANS" under their names.

I heart the thought of Denis and Jake plowing through a couple burgers together.  You think Denis makes that yipping noise when he's ready for Jake to pass the ketchup!?

Quote
WASHINGTON - A K-State spokesman says the whole wildcat nation benefits when University president Kirk Schulz takes time to eat breadsticks and "clear his mind."

Schulz spokesman Bill Burton defended Schulz's leisure activities amid some goEMAW.com criticism that Schulz should not be scheduling fun time during the Big 12 Conference Realignment crisis. The president went to Prince of Persia on Friday evening after attending a breadstick feed at the Olive Garden earlier in the day.

Burton said K-Staters stand by the notion that "their president ought to have a little time to clear his mind."
He said Schulz relaxed after a week in which he got pledges from the other Forgotten Five members to help pay OU, aTm, and the University of Texas among other work. Burton said that having time to himself "probably does us all good."

Anyone else notice that Shultzy covered up the body of the cert in that pic?

He didn't really appreciate it.

He is smiling because he is imagining what it would feel like to punch you in the face and feed you to the TX AD.
