If we finish in 8th, that is improvement. These players are talented enough to do that and more.

What makes you think they're talented enough? Their Rivals profiles or their P5 offers? Because the guys who just transferred out had similar profiles.

Nobody has said we couldn't get worse.  People have said they don't give a crap about the difference between 9th and 10th.

We were 3-7 in one-possession games (including both OT games).  If we break even on those, we end up 16-15.  It's not some season changer like you pretend it is.  Regardless, actual good teams don't play close games.

When you're playing a top 25 team every night in this league, you better hope you're playing close games and not getting your doors blown off.

Many here who are acting like we couldn't get any worse than last year, didn't actually watch us play last year. We lost like a dozen one possession games in the #1 RPI league and a lot early on due to dumbass covid protocols, that they stopped following mid season. That team is blown up now and has been replaced with a bunch of bench players from shitty teams.  :th_twocents:

And all the players from last year’s team went to shitty schools. Only 2 who went P5 were Pack and Bradford. Bradford did nothing last year and oscar’s track record on big man development isn’t stellar. Pack it seems like you believe definitely would be here still if we kept oscar. Fact of the matter is the dude got a 400k NIL deal, there’s a pretty good chance he was testing those waters no matter who the coach was.

If Pack transferred anyway do you really think we’re bringing in anyone better than we have under Tang? If that happens we’re looking at another mediocre at best season (and likely another bottom 2-3 finish) with another year of increasing fan disinterest.

I trust coach Tang. You should too. He's a winner.

I was ready for oscar to leave. This isn't about oscar, this is if we hired the right guy or not.

Somebody’s gotta bring you a fresh pair of underwear bc it’s obvious this whole pee pants routine you’re on won’t be curbed anytime soon

Watching film reveals an obvious upgrade in talent level.  Freshmen often get shorted on PT when playing behind top level talent on good teams.

And losing as many one possession games as we did, demonstrates how poor oscar's clock management and play calling was.  It was mind-blowing watching us bungle in-bounds plays after a timeout.

The most noticeable change is going to be having quality bigs that can rebound and alter shots at the rim. We haven’t seen that in a long time.

The record in close games is an indictment of oscar, not something to hang a hat on. It is very difficult to be as poor in close games as the previous staff was. I seriously doubt Tang will be as bad in close games. That's not to say he's going to be good, but I doubt that his teams won't be the reliable pants shitters we've seen the last three seasons.
