Kinda crazy Frank has only made the tourney once since then too. WGAS? :dunno:

is....is your point that you don't think Frank would have necessarily made the tournament any more than oscar had he stuck around instead of going to SC? i mean come on wacky

I think when you start displaying scenarios of “if the 16 seed doesn’t beat the 1, then…” you’ve lost all credibility in the argument. Wgaf? You know one thing I know Frank would have never done? End KU’s streak, because he’s never won a conference title.

Weber is gone. No reason to keep piling on reasons for him to go.

I'm curious as to this affecting Senior Night.  I assume we just do Mike's ceremony on Saturday instead of a sparsely attended Monday game and maybe it's no big deal anyway as I think we honored him last year.

That's sure to impress the committee(s).

I still think it’s for this
It also gives oscar an extra shot at 500 career wins this season.  He’s currently sitting at 497.

What part of that argument do you doubt the credulity? My only point was that the number of tournament games he's played in would have gone from lousy to really lousy. Its not like i'm cherry picking stats here. He has performed very poorly in the tournament, as bad as you can perform, with the exception of 1 year.

Wacky, unfortunately, I do think you make a valid point in that you sir are an incredibly accurate cross section of the typical k-state fan base. 1 good tournament run in a decade is more than satisfactory. Its small timey and small minded but, it seems to placate a large percentage of our fan base. Shame on me for wanting better, or, more accurately...being frustrated when we don't achieve better.

What message have I given that makes you think i'm happy with the state of the program? I want to be in the tournament every year. Frank's success was due to Underwood. I'm sick of hearing about him. I hope we hire a great one! Thanks for the two conference titles though and the people who try to downplay that success are losers.

if there is a bigger oscar apologist than you on this blog, i don't know who it is. Your steadfast support of the man has been awe inspiring.

And i'm sorry that you are tired of hearing about Frank, i wish i knew what to tell you other than I guess that's just how comparisons work? If the fans of New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) basketball want to get mad b/c their head coach hasn't gotten them to a sweet 16...well that's an irrational argument that should be dismissed as such b/c they have no reasonable expectation for that level of success. Unfortunately your best comparison is usually going to be against the guy that was there before, to wit, Frank. (that's twice i've used that term now its fun to say, would recommend) I'm not sure what else to tell you on that. Unless your position is that we should all just shut up and accept the results that oscar has produced without criticism? Which i mean sure we could all take that advice except its completely stupid.

There’s some realistic fans out there that try and evaluate a coach with some reason and not just emotions, like the crybaby fucks from KSO that invade Twitter 24/7/365. I guess you’re one of those that needs to be heard. He’s gone. Congrats! Now stfu and move on.

from what i can tell wackyman, your "realistic evaluation" seems to be limited to fondly reflecting back on something that happened long enough ago that none of our current players were on the team at the time, and with no credible reason to think we will repeat that kind of success on our current trajectory.

But i'll tell you what, as a courtesey to you, I'll stfu and move on, with respect to "my opinions on why oscar weber should no longer be the coach of the ksu mens basketball team". However if oscar is back next year then that courtesey is revoked and i will continue to hold him to account.

Oh I think if they win the big 12 tourney and go to the sweet 16 he would come back.

oscar is an optimist

Getting to 500 wins makes me feel better about both scheduling that game and oscar's impending retirement.  Hopefully, the chase for 500 doesn't result in us being the only P5 team in the CBI or some bullshit tournament.

Which will make it easier for him to “retire”. Sounds good to me.

I really don't Pack to transfer away, but if he does he's the perfect fit for Auburn.

5 game losing streak to end oscar’s tenure is fitting
