Smith is the best rebounder in the conference at 6'4" and Nowell is the best point guard in the conference who doesn't play for Baylor, they have the best two in the conference, period.

at home against KU i definitely wanted him to be the one taking the shot but i wish he would have picked a better shot considering there were still 7 seconds on the clock when he heaved it from like 35 feet. Although we benefited from a lot of borderline calls late in the game last night, I do think Pack legit got fouled on his 3 attempt and should have been shooting free throws. Unless the argument is that if the ball is tipped/blocked that the shooter is no loger entitled to complete the act of shooting without being touched, like how there's no PI when a pass is tipped in football.

I blame the offense for doing nothing to help him.  We've had the ball a number of times in one-possession games with under 10 seconds left and I'll bet we've only had one or two passes in those situations.

That's just it, against ISU and last night there was a play called but he didn't execute it properly. Wyatt said against ISU, Ish didn't set the correct screen then Nigel panicked. Same thing happened last night, the high screen action was set up but Nijel brushed it off then took that guarded 3 with a ton of time on the clock.

@MIR, I think I’m still right about the .500 thing for the NIT btw. Saw they were still looking for another game now to enhance their chances of landing .500 or better for the NIT from Kellis today.

Yeah, they removed the requirement in 2017. That said, we may not get selected because we haven’t won many games.  Who knows if the projection system there takes into account “Covid affected games” the way that the selection committee is supposed to

Adding the extra game in an effort to get an NIT bid makes me think oscar isn't getting fired.  Maybe he's still getting retired but I don't think you attempt to stretch out the season if you're wanting to get a coaching search underway.

Meh. That's a bit conspiracy theory in my mind. A lot of good kids on this squad trying to play for something. A lot of teams are trying to add an extra game for something at the end of the year, where covid affected them during the season.

they could just be looking at the fact that this team that was playing in the E8 four years ago...is on pace to even make the post season (of any kind, not just the NCAA tournament) only 3 times in the last 8 years. and maybe just for the sake of the program that are trying to get that up to 50% of the time.

kind of crazy to think that in 5 years Frank's teams made the NCAA tournament 4 times, and played in a total of 10 tournament games (I'm only counting round of 64 or better, eff that play in game bullcrap counting as a tournament win, you haven't won a tournament game until you are playing in the round of 64).

Weber's teams, in 10 years have made the tournament 5 times and played in a total of 8 games. And if not for that miracle 16 beating a 1, that 8 would more realistically be 6 games. Either way, point being that in half the time Frank's teams were making the tourney with regularity and not getting bounced in the first game.
