Ish should not be on any list with those other three guys.

He is a 6'9 player that gets less than 2 rebounds a game, can't guard anyone, and a 'shooter' that is shooting 30% from 3. He played damn near 30 minutes against ISU and got 2 rebounds on 16% shooting. I would love to see his +/- this year, but can't seem to find it.

Shooting 35% overall while shooting more 3s than 2s.  He won't play in the paint which is our biggest weakness.  I can understand oscar trying to play him as a stretch 4 as I think that's been a keystone of his best teams but Ish isn't good enough to do it.

I wish we ran good enough offense to get Nijel easy looks.  I'd guess he has the highest 3pt % in the nation on unassisted shots.  I think his scoring ability is up there with Pullen and he does it with a lot less around him.

100% agree. I'd rather have Bradford than Massoud. We've seen a season of Bradford playing at least decently. Bradford, given an off season of strength and conditioning, could get back to what he was.

The thing about it is that Ish is really the only person that we're certain is coming back, he's used his free transfer.

All of that and he also takes really terrible low percentage shots at terrible times in a terrible offense.

Went to the game and it's incredible how passive Ish is all the time.

And Bradford looked like he had zero business on the court with ISU's dude.

It really is amazing, the core of Smith/Pack/Nowell is as legit as really any team could ask for, everyone else is just not really worth it at all.

I would love to see this team with an actually good big man, they'd tear it up.

I've compared this team to Wooly's last team in 2006. This year's big 3 are better than Martin, Hoskins, and Harris, but that team also had Akeem Wright, Clint Stewart, Darren Kent, Schyler Thomas, and Dramane Diarra, every single one of them is better than who their comp on this team is

Akeem>Miguel
Clint>McGuirl
Kent>Ish
Thomas>Kasubke
Diarra>Bradford/Ez/Linguard

Hoskins and Smith are pretty dang similar.

I certainly want to keep Pack and hope Nowell stays another year, but it's about as worthless of a roster as you could imagine outside of that.  Jettisoning a bunch of them while bringing in some transfers really can't hurt.  I'm not sure if retaining oscar is really a net positive for keeping those two anyway.

Their are a number of similarities between this team and that 2006 team - perhaps most noteworthy being how close both teams were to having a good season, but also largely having an inability to close out games.

That 2006 team played a terrible non-conference schedule, but were 9-2 entering Big 12 play. They lost their first two, then beat KU, A&M and Mizzou in a row to get to 12-4. Then, they finished 3-9 the rest of the way with SIX of those nine losses being five points or less (and four of those six losses were by two points or less). That's actually quite extraordinary if you think about it.

If Nowell doesn't graduate he's stuck too. I don't know how close he is. He went into this season as a Junior so that wouldn't indicate that he's all that close. At the very least I going to assume he'll need summer school to graduate so if he wants to leave the new coach will have quite a bit of time in the program to make an impression.

oscar probably coaches that team to the NCAA tournament, but he wouldn't have landed Martin, Harris, or Wright. oscar should have had the foresight to throw Wooly on the staff.

I am pretty sure Nowell is going to go play professionally somewhere after this season, based on his tweet a couple weeks ago. Said something about whatever team takes him next year wont be disappointed.

It was even more vague than that.  He didn't say next season.  It probably leans towards him leaving still but who knows.

Oscar wouldn't have known how to use Hoskins. He's terrible at post offense.

i haven't seen as much kstate bball as many of you, but to me, i don't see a "big three" on this team.  there's a big gap between pack and everyone else.
