Nobel Peace Prize winner initiated Sentinel intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) program - 81% over budget, and counting.
A grifters paradise
Modernizing our ICBM capabilities and replacing the 450 Minuteman 3 missiles deployed in 1970 is not cheap.
Arguably cheaper and wiser investment than boots on the ground around the world. Additionally, if we improve our defense with modern ICBM capabilities, then there is a much better argument for significantly reducing our military investment in other countries.
No one said it was cheap, Pete. But yet another program that is wildly and insanely over budget.
The neocons that still run Washington will never allow the U.S. to get rid of the ridiculous number of military bases it has world wide either, and they'll fight U.S. troop presence in places like NATO countries to the death, constantly issuing wildly hyperbolic statements about the Russia bogeyman. So there will not be any "savings" there.
