I am convinced that Putin doesn’t give a eff about the Ukraine. I think he wants the sanctions. An opportunity to use energy as a divider amongst European counties and the US is delicious. As is the chance to align with China on Taiwan.

My belief is that Putin has all along been completely convinced of invading the Ukraine immediately after the Olympics (have to show a little respect for China).

There’s nothing any US President could do here to “win.” It’s impossible to use conventional tactics successfully against authoritarian regimes who are completely dedicated to their course of action.

It’s a crap situation that isn’t anyone’s “fault” in the West.

Why bother stirring up crap during the Olympics? He could just have easily waited til Monday to move troops to the border and I’m not sure the extra week and a half would have made any difference?

I just don't understand why he didn't do this 14 months ago, there would have been far less resistance, and he definitely knew that.

He already had the leverage 14 months ago. He no longer does. Ukraine isn’t what he or anyone else wants.

The Ukraine has substantial natural resources.  Including substantial rare earth metals.   Oil, iron ore, coal and natural gas as well.

No one wants the US puppet mega corrupt government and the Biden Family Inc profit center.

Straight up LOL at anyone who calls the Ukraine a democracy.

They knew it was open season once Biden Family Inc was in the White House.

Imagine being such a low IQ poster that you think there’s nothing in Ukraine worth having.  When  in reality they have substantial levels of natural resources including having some of the largest deposits of several sought after natural resources not only in Europe, but the world.

The question you have to ask given that Nordstream 2 by passes Ukraine (and others) as I’ve pointed out repeatedly.  Why was Biden first going to let Nordstream 2 be completed?  Why was our alleged ally Germany all up in that crap?  Fully knowing the ramifications for Ukraine (and others)?

LOL, what a clusterfuck.

Who held more sway over Biden Family Inc?

I’m convinced he WANTS the sanctions…that they are the point of all this. It will divide Europe. They need his juice.

Look, he’s smarter than us. Always has been. So if he does something seemingly “despite” our consequences, it’s because he wants the god damn consequences.
