The primary point being (and it's always lost on #neoconGe), is that multiple legislators are on record saying they pretty much DNGAF whose hands our weapons end up in. It was discussed in the Intercept article I posted multiple pages back.

Now, if you're stupid enough to think we're going to send 1000's of Javelins into the Ukraine and the Russians weren't going to get their hands on some, then you're an amazing rube.

Given the corruption in that part of the world, in both militaries, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see literal tons of those weapons in conflicts in far off lands in the months to come.

one nice thing about this very bad war is that i think it will deliver at least a bit of a hip check to both the far left and the far right who share the animating feature of reflexively criticizing any american foreign policy (and supporting anything they perceive as in opposition to american foreign policy)

not gonna look for the tweet, but i saw yesterday that americans are 90-10 in perceiving russia as in the wrong and unjustified, and there was no partisan difference in that opinion.

If true, I think the key part of sys’s point was that the 90/10 split of “Russia sucks” people showed no significant divide between democrats and republicans.
