Are those statements mutually exclusive?

I'm not arguing the accuracy of the statements

But...

Both things are simultaneously possible

How can a country be "years away" from the goal of nuclear weapons a few days ago . . . to now just be set back a few months from the goal of nuclear weapons just a few days later?

Have we done the regime change yet?
My inner neocon has a throbbing desire to do another regime change.

What does Putin want?  That seems the most relevant thing here.

I don't understand why people wouldn't want a regime change in Iran. At least one led by the people.

Agree that regime change can be a good thing!
Just to be clear, if Operation Midnight Hammer was actually successful in KO'ing Iran's nuclear ambitions, it was a great policy.

I never have read that they were now a couple months away from nuclear completion just that the assessment was that the process had been set back

Your go to media agenda is to meltdown because of a bombing mission implying it wasn't needed.  Upon the successful execution of said mission without any losses to US forces or equipment the implication is that it was ineffectual and also implied that it only set back the pending achievement of a Iranian working nuke by a month or two.

Whether iran was a day away from having a nuclear weapon or a decade away, setting them back a month or two is shittier than setting them back years or decades or obliterating their program permanently. But Dax knows that.

LOL. That makes no sense. A setback of a few months doesn’t mean Iran is now only a few months away. If they were three years away, they’re now three years and a few months away. And if they were a few weeks away, they’d now be a few weeks plus a few months away.

That said, no one on this blog claimed they were years away—because no one here, except you, pretends to know things they don’t.

The implication from #blueanon go to media a week or so ago was that there was no need to attack because they were years away . . . now the implication is that the attacks didn't do much and they're implying that the timeline of the bomb is vastly more compressed and the attack only provided a minor set back. Essentially trying to diminish Trump's claims on the success.

When you put the deranged #blueanon go to media spin on it . . . it make perfect sense.

Lot of lashing out by the entirety of #blueanon over all the usage of the words like  "peace" and "ceasefire" . . . they're not used to that and it shows.

The SEMAFOR economic article in the mainstream thread . . . reminded me that they broke the story about the Iranian spy that Joe Biden made "point guy" on Iran.

No bigger friend to the terror state of Iran than Pedo Pete and company.

What a minute, I thought Joe started this war in 2024 and just bombed Iran?  Why would Joe do that to his best friend?  Was this autopen again?   :shakesfist:

My bet is that in 5 years we will look back at this time and wish that Isreal and the US kept bombing Iran until there was a regime change.
