College players without any of the NIL $ gross over $250K between education, stipend, food, and housing. Relax, they're treated like kings and can play a game with a weak ass cold. I'm literally over cornoabros. I decided year 3 is when I'd stop hearing dumbasses talk about it. You're probably right, not worth the conversation, especially if you still think they're mistreated in 2022.

I assume you are agreeing with me here.  In my view it’s teams that have had coaching turnover that just don’t want to get their ass kicked with a transfer depleted roster.

To get away from the tangent (but not really maybe), I totally agree with this.

Supposedly, LSU was already down to 51 scholarship players with all the transfers/opt-outs.

Add the Omicron factor and the magic 8 ball is saying this game isn't likely to be played.

It won't be. I don't know what they do with bowl revenues when these things get cancelled, because how do your create revenue for something that never existed, but I'm sure it will be a huge sigh of relief for many, when this thing gets sent to the moon, to help prevent coughs.

Bowl payouts go to the conferences and then that pool of money is divided up. In the case of a canceled game, there is no payout, but any costs already incurred by the schools would be mitigated by the overall payout from the conference (if not fully, certainly partially). As for revenue directly generated from the games, I would think the bowl games/universities would refund any tickets bought directly from the bowl game and/or the university...

Yeah, I knew it went to conferences, but wasn't sure what happened when games got cancelled.

If LSU decides to forfeit the game today, maybe we could find some other crappy school to play and finish the year with 9 wins.

Why can’t all the dumped teams hook up with each other?

It’s teams using covid as an excuse to not play games they don’t want to.   It’s not the bowls cancelling.

I somewhat agree with you. If these were regular season games I think they'd make it work but you have to acknowledge that positivity rates in college football players are probably higher. Texas A&M clearly didn't want to play, they cancelled 9 days before their game, which is absurd. I didn't think Hawaii should be grouped with them, they were sitting at home for heavens sake.

I'd say coronabros probably got us here. So they're the villain's. They hate life and sports.

I mean you'd bet hard pressed to find a more conservative collective involved in colleges and universities than college football decision makers. If you want to continue politicize this feel free to do so, it doesn't make even a little bit of sense though. It isn't libs or coronabros that are making these decisions though. The libs aren't cancelling NYC NYE, I doubt they care about the rough ridin' Arizona Bowl.

It's so stupid crap is getting cancelled over the weakest variant on earth.

Yes it is.

Unfortunate there's not a readily available, widely distributed, subsidized vaccine program . . .

Blam, the hammer drops... right on the unvaxed.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Luckily Central Michigan gets to play in a bowl, they're going to the Sun Bowl.
