Grew this lil fella from helicopter
He’s so grown up now.  Soon will be driving and going on his first tree date.  Hold onto your (tree) babies

That’s a sappy story.

It’s sappy, but true.  And while I’m sure he’ll be going off to tree college soon, he’ll always know where his roots are

Good bump, fd.  Love a good tree origin story.

And you’re darn right it ain’t over yet.  The scrub oaks need some appreciation too.

I just cut down some trees yesterday (dead/dying trees or branches). There's nothing quite like cutting them down then splitting them and stacking it. I almost don't want to burn it and just impress people with my wood.

The tree guys came and spruced up our maple tree this spring. We have one in the back too that was sadly damaged by wind.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

My neighbor also has a nice maple in their front yard. They also recently got a new paint job on their house, which is very nice.

Went for a bike ride after work with one of the kids. Maples and oaks everywhere. Crunching thru leaves on the bikes. Felt good.

A victim of the power line purge at the farm.  My app says this is a Dark Ash.  From a distance, I thought it might be Walnut.  What do the emaw arborists say?

did anyone else have grandparents who would collect black walnuts and spend the winter extracting the meat from them?

Not tree-related but I think I have set a personal best for shorts + hoodie days this fall. So many great days to enjoy.
