Can somebody tell me what the Whorns gain by bolting to the PAC 11? Will the money be that much better? Will they still be getting a sweetheart deal? If they stick around, I think the conference could end up even better, maybe poaching Lousiville, Cincinnati, WV & Pitt from the Big East and starting a bigger better BIG 12 (whatever) network. IMHO, these schools would fit better and have more prestige than the Mountain West. All have successfull BB AND FB programs and their TV markets would make up for the loss of Lincoln and Denver. Beebe is such a pussy. How can he let second rate conferences cherry pick off one of the "elite" conferences at will. I know the money is better in the short term, but a real commissioner should have seen this coming and had a plan in place. Expansion and a nice national network deal would bring the conference more in line with the Big 10 and SEC. Competitively we're better than either the PAC 10 or Big 10. Am I missing something?
I'm too lazy to look up Big East financial numbers. Could somebody tell me if it would be feasible to pick up the Big East schools?
