Felt inevitable once it fell to him, but incredible composure from Poulsen to slot that home. What a start and what an atmosphere

Well well well, Germany had one more great match in them. They still need a draw against Hungary tho.

i know national teams are often less than the sum of their part, but that was a pathetic performance by GER...really didn't deserve anything

I don't think this is true, at all. Germany is just old, this core of players had a great run and this and probably the '22 works cup is the end of that run. The thing with countries like Germany is unlike Belgium, Greece, Iceland, and the United States is there is no golden generation. They get a group, ride them until they're done then toss them and start again.

i'm pretty casual, but haavertz, rudiger, werner etc as old?  i dunno. there's hummels and maybe the goalie.  who else?

They have looked shitty for quite a while even before this tournament, it's exactly why they were in the GOD, they were drawn into the third pot.

I agree with that, I was making the point that next World Cup will probably be the absolute end of the road for a good chunk of the core.
