Karl barely recognizes KU Football and mostly considers it as a hindrance and distraction to KU Basketball.

Karla on the other hand pulled the KU yard stone out early, but placed it in the side yard in hopes that Karl doesn't notice it made an early appearance.  Karl won't see it because he pays a neighbor boy $20 dollars to cut that grass.  Karla quietly augments the $20 spot with an additional $25 from her special stash in order to keep the youngster doing it on the regular.  Besides, she doesn't want Karl who is a bit overweight out there pushing any lawnmower.  Albeit, with the dry weather and with Karl's insistence that a not a dime will be spent on water to keep the grass green, there isn't much grass to cut.  Karla looks forward to a nice glass of box wine at Johnnie's tonight.
