Reminds me of when Steve Urkel was like the most popular character on TV doing his nasal nerd voice and it was so cute and funny that the boomers could not get enough of it and would go around squeaking "did I do thaaaaat?" and stuff and then the show kept going on and all of a sudden Urkel was like 28 years old and trying to do the same lame schtick but his voice sounded like an old man that smokes 6 packs a day and it wasn't funny or cute at all any more but folks still clung to it like it was the greatest thing in TV history...
