I'm a republican and I want massive mail in voting. I think mail in voting is a universal thing people want and mostly already use. I always vote by mail. I want all things that help all people vote actually.

Also as a Republican, I want main-in voting not just for myself but for rural America. Giving additional conveniences to gain voting participants should be what everyone wants in this country.  If people think it creates a fraudulent system, lets figure out how to make it better versus remove it.

I'd never known if my vote counted until mail-in voting.

So what is your point Dax?  If you need to refer back to some Trump speeches I'll wait.

OMG

Your party wants mass mail-in voting.

Actually I'll take online voting please.  Mail in voting was a great idea in 1995.

I don't remember anything happening in my face last time I voted in KS, but in 100% mail-in world, my ballot is tracked all the way through and I see my whole voting history 4 eva.

Yes.  Mail-In voting = lazy.

I can't wait to tell the elderly, handicap, and people who depend on public transit that they are lazy mother fuckers for voting via mail.

And have to wait in lines for hours on a work day to vote after pubs have shut down hundreds of polling locations

Actually I'll take online voting please.  Mail in voting was a great idea in 1995.

That can happen soon if people didn't try to block it (they will). But I read (post below) about how the secret ballot will make it tricky.

Quote
These days the demand for a secret ballot creates a gordian knot for election officials who might otherwise see efficiency advantages and cost-savings in a broad switch to online voting. However, there is simply no proven way to both keep an online ballot secret and guarantee its authenticity.

“You have a huge authentication problem in the beginning to verify that the voter is who they actually say they are,” said Susan Dzieduszycka-Suinat, President and CEO of U.S. Vote Foundation. “Then you have to separate the actual ballot from the identity of the voter to create an anonymous transaction. Once you’ve done that, how do you verify that any vote belongs to any voter and how does the voter check their work later? That decoupling throws a technical wrench in the works and creates a challenge that people haven’t been able to conquer.”

The solution then for 28 of the 32 states that use some form of online voting is to have voters waive their right to a secret ballot, therefore enabling officials to identify the voter and accurately trace and verify the vote. However, waiving one’s right to a secret ballot raises red flags for voting rights advocates who see the voluntary surrender of such rights as creating an alarming precedent and potentially setting the stage for a reversion back to the rampant political corruption that was commonplace before the secret ballot.

It's very weird that some people don't understand the difference between the usual mail-in voting and mass mail-in voting, but apparently some idiots on this board will have to have it explained to them.

Stop generalizing mail-in voting if you differentiate the two.  Most know certain states only accept approved exceptions in order to vote by mail.  Location of polling places and lack of transportation doesn't fall into that category.

Calling people lazy for wanting the convenience to vote by mail is plain ignorant, or...purposefully stated because those are the folks you want to see suppressed.

I don't know what "Republican Stronghold" is being referenced.   The polling place troubles of multiple Dem strongholds are well known, though.
