The 2020 Big 12 Covid Season :excited:
« on: August 12, 2020, 08:17:28 AM »
This is a football thread about the upcoming Covid season.

https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-12-proceeding-toward-playing-2020-college-football-season-despite-big-ten-pac-12-cancellations/

With a 9 game conference season, what will it take to win this league?  Will 7 wins do it this year?  Also, who benefits most from the reduced practice schedule?  Is there a "system" or "style" that will have an edge?

If the Cats are again the loan "run heavy" team this year, and practices are muted as compared to prior years, does our physical offensive approach help us?

Are we still playing the big12 championship game presented by Dr Pepper? I think we can go 7-2 in big12 play and then head down to Dallas and kick some rough riding faces in to win the Big12.

With only 3 P5 conference's playing you have to assume that a 9-2 Big12 Champion will be invited to the CFB Playoffs right?!?!

More like the top 3 SEC West teams and Clemson.

what is everybody doing with their STH money?  Just seeing if you can get into any games or rolling it to next year immediately?

Haven't made a final decision yet, but likely rolling it to next year. I want to see what options the AD gives me. They've been taking my money since June though so we'll see.

OU's top running back opted out, and second string has to sit for the first 4 games.  So, we get their third string RB.  How much will that help us? :dunno:

The real question is do they have a Heisman caliber QB again or not.

here's the thing, this is our best shot at a national championship we will probably ever have again. and it is not, it is not one that should be taken lightly.

Number 1 Dual Threat QB out of HS.  He could be another Trevor Lawrence.

I'm standing by my earlier prediction.

Can you imagine how awesome it would be to make the CFB Playoffs?!?!?  :excited:

This is the best chance a Big XII team besides OU or Texas to get in the CFP.  It won't set right if only SEC & ACC are in.

Maybe Florida, Auburn or Tennessee takes LSU's spot.

I already forgot that we have a week off between our first 2 games. Really hoping the season lasts until we can smack OU around then it gets called off and we claim ourselves as champions based off our impressive resume.

from all accounts they expect very little, if any, of a drop-off at QB at OU. This kid was the #1 high school QB in america and he has not disappointed their coaches. Their OL returns all 5 starters. I just hope the QB isnt the runner that Hurts was. The runners are very difficult to contain. If we could put a couple big hits on the young QB maybe he gets rattled. they have had veteran QBs every year Riley has been there.
