the stupidity of ksu
« on: June 25, 2020, 09:17:38 AM »
someone please educate me on how our esteemed university and athletic leaders with months of preparation behind them constructed a medical protocol that allowed returning football players out of their initial quarantine without getting a negative coronavirus test result back FIRST!!!
gene is blaming the players but the problem is the protocol. why is he not taking any blame? why are they threatening the players
they could have had an offseason workout program if they would have let just about any person in america design a protocol to get released from quarantine.
its laughable
for some reason i was worried that we would screw this up and sure enough it seems almost impossible to screw up but we did.

I personally think it's stupid to think you can run a college football program without having covid run through it like crazy. Even with a "medical protocol"!

You have kids coming back from just about every state in the United States to MHK and you expect them to be caged up for 14 days and not trying to finger blast fillies. Grow up, Peter Pan!

Ok Dax. I’m just telling you what the President of the United States said. No need to have your feelings hurt so badly.

honestly looks like they're doing pretty good other than gene threatening to take scholarships

The only ones who are required to stay are the 14 who have tested positive, Taylor said. Many of the infected were already living together in houses or apartments, so they can stay put. Several who live with players who did not test positive have moved into dorms by themselves.

Taylor said that workers in protective gear are delivering two meals per day, along with groceries, to the infected players.

earlier gene said the entire program was shut down from working out on campus facilities. again not sure why there wasn't a protocol in place that would prevent this from ever happening.
the kids will be kids is understandable in most situations but a strong message should have been sent BEFORE any of this ever started. negative tests should have been documented BEFORE kids were allowed to interact with each other.
other programs with significantly more positives are continuing with their workouts.

I just don't know what KSU could have done short of sealing all kids in a plastic bubble 24-7.  One of my best friends, who is a young, divorced parent with a respiratory issue went on lockdown at home when this all started months ago.  No one in or out of her home.  She never left home (all but riding bike once in a while, and a few times curbside no contact pick up to go).  All deliveries disinfected before being touched.  The only contact with humans was he oldest son, who also locked down with her.  She did this for over 3 months.  Still got covid.

It is what it is.  It is going to spread.

He provided clarity on the scholarship thing on the air with John Kurtz earlier in the week. He said that if a player repeatedly violated what is asked of the athletes and they become a danger to others they would be subjected to discipline, up to a loss of scholarship.
