Dogs are great. Basically humans, should be given some kind of animal-god status.

Cats serve a purpose but probably shouldn't be kept as pets in the traditional sense. No matter how much they purr and wrap around your legs, their only real objective is to someday get you out of the picture.

Anything else like parrots and crap is just crazy. Having a BIRD around that can repeat everything you say and lives for like 100 years? No thanks. Have enough birds living in my chimney, nasty animals.

Fish are kinda funny and nice to look at but you can't interact with them. Plus I don't really want a bowl of putrifying animal waste sitting in my living room.

Plz post your favorite pet species for me to make fun of, tia

Few years ago I had to clean an apartment that the lady had an insane amount of cats, and they pissed and crap everywhere.  Piles of cat crap up to my knees in some places.  Had to rip the carpet and some of the walls out, and it took a year for the smell to go away despite countless treatments with various chemicals.

I hate cats.

Dogs are by far the most elite.  I'm thinking of getting a horse and maybe some goats as pets.  They won't live in the house but have always like horses and the goat is just so I don't have to mow as much.

Have 3 cats.

Have two stepcats. Can't imagine a third. May have been a deal-breaker.

3rd cat is a refugee.  Doesn't get along with the other 2, has to have a separate living area.

Dad and former stepmom had 3 birds, all small breeds of parrots (Pionus parrots, specifically). First one was cool for like 2 weeks then got some sort of overprotective-of-my-owners complex (I was only there on weekends) and started biting the crap out of me. It would waddle along the couch when I was sitting next to my dad and come for my ear every goddamn time. Dad was all "Shove your finger up to his chest to make him step up on it and he'll submit" and then I did and the bird bit the crap out of my finger. HATE that rough rider  :chainsaw:

Other 2 birds were pretty chill, though. Kinda cool but you have to deal with crap on your shirt and furniture and carpet or anywhere else you take the bird.

Dogs are definitely god-tier. Small or large breeds, all good pets in their own right. Love cats, usually pretty good bros and don't stick around and demand attention all the time. Don't like bitchy cats that want to be petted in the middle of the night all the time (and wake you up by pawing your face  :curse: ).

Fish are cool, more like a decoration than a pet, but you can do some neat stuff with aquariums.

This makes complete sense. Had already guessed almost this exact scenario. It's funny how cats are colloquially synonymous with pussies while dogs are synonymous with bitches, because pussies all get along great together in synchrony and crap (like dogs) and bitches be fighting (like cats). Really just an embarrassingly bad metaphor mistake from our ancestors.

Have two cats at home.  Mia is like 4, and Baby Loulou ( ) is 6 weeks old .
