some of you already know this but I work in tech and our company is a leader in micro chips you put in your pets. like fluffy gets lost the vets can just scan her and get her details. We thought we may have furloughs based on the virus and slowdown but we just got an order for one of our prototype injectable chips of almost a billion (WITH A B). Also said that number could grow as we ramp up production. It'll take us at least a year to manufacture but they want them ASAP and will pay us a multiple of what we would normally charge. They have to be able to be injected in humans as well as pets but the differences are mostly just licensing and approval process changes. The chips themselves are ready to go for human use. so, really good news personally for me and my team. I do have guilt about others either losing their jobs or taking pay cuts. I'll be doing whatever I can to help out my friends and family during this time.

That sounds like a lot of chips, any guess what they are going to be used for?

Guy: I work in tech

Girl:

Guy: Yeah. We make microchips

Girl:  :excited:

Guy: No, not those kind. The kind you inject into cats in case they run away.

Girl:  :buh-bye:

That’s great news SD. Are the chips able to work if they’re mixed into other medicine in syringes?

we have a very specific set of requirements that we're not supposed to disclose with the buyer (also can't disclose their info). yes to your questions kk.

I don't know and don't want to because there is a very robust NDA on a lot of the stuff.

Are these chips implanted under the skin?  Is this a big brother thing?  Congrats on the great news.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I work in supply chain and the majority of our customers are in the food and beverage industry so we have actually seen an uptick in business. One of my customers got bought out by a bigger company last year and they told us to GTFO when they did their yearly RFP in January, wouldn't even reply to an email.

I reached back out 2 weeks ago to see if we could help, they immediately sent over their RFP then started throwing a bunch of business our way. Last week was our first full week working with them and we are doing about 15x more business with them then we did with the old customer.

 :Woohoo:

sd chipped all 3 of my kids (and my pets) and canco it works great.  I know where they are and can track their movements.

Was hoping the technology which would allow me to control their actions/thoughts would be a bit more reliable but soon I guess...

Lol. While hilarious, that's also the kind of stuff that shows up on Chinese newscasts and is used for propaganda.

I'm currently "working" out on my front porch with a beer on a beautiful 80 degree spring day.  I guess that counts as one good side effect of this whole clusterfuck.

When you have KStateO fabric laying around and people need masks.  The wife of a grad made this.

daughter's daycare is only charging us 1/2 the usual amount while we don't use them during Covid crisis. $135 a week back in my pocket folks. alternatively it forces the realization that I'm still spending $135 a week for literally nothing.

That seems like a fairly bold move by the daycare

Auto insurance sending people money back because of less driving?  that seems odd but awesome.
