I got a notification that I may have been exposed to Covid at work so I'm out trying to get tested. Went to a mobile site run by the city and the machine was down so they were just handing out the home Abbott tests. Still thought I'd go for a PCR since I left the house so I'm in line at an urgent care and the line goes on for half a block behind me. So like good luck if you need an urgent care for anything but Covid testing this week.

Our daughter needed a rapid test for something but they failed to tell us until a few minutes before her appointment this week (which was at like 7pm). Called one clinic which was a 3 hour wait. Called another that was walk right in. Had a test and result within 30 minutes of looking.

Since the "discovery" of Omicron in South Africa their daily Covid mortality is still running at around 85% to 90% less than their peaks during their winter months.

SA is a younger nation than the United States, but their Vax rate is 31%.

I tested positive. We basically went nuts on work travel over the last 30 days for some reason and it bit me. I'm vaxxed and boosted so I only had about 24 hours of low grade fever and now some sinusy stuff with a slight cough. Really hoping that's the extent of it and it doesn't worsen and worried obviously given my genetics and how hard it hit my family early on. And really REALLY hoping my wife and children (all vaxxed) aren't impacted.

All my family who got it at Thanksgiving, all boosted, only had about 3 or 4 days of feeling crappy, then a couple of days of feeling so-so, and then everyone was fine. Even the older one's with underlying conditions were all good within a week.

When I was at the gym yesterday, I was watching CNN as I did cardio and sadly Jim Acosta turned his entire show into 1000% FearPorn, which was extremely sad.
