We were told by this POTUS that he was going to stop Covid, cold.   We were told by this POTUS that if you got vaccinated you could not and would not get Covid.    We were told by this POTUS that if healthcare workers got vaccinated they could not and would not get nor transmit Covid to other people.    We were told by this POTUS that he was going to bring the best and brightest to fight against Covid and they were going to be exemplary in handling it in every way . . . news this morning:  Covid testing supply shortage (nearly 2 years into the Pandemic).   I was told by numerous #blueanonGe that fighting pandemics was easy as long as you had the right people, and production of necessary supplies and materials to fight the pandemic was easy if, you know, they just tried harder and the right political party was in office.

I am ready and excited to call out those who said fighting pandemics was easy!  Private Stone, reporting for duty SIR!

Start with your bro, Phil

Then work your way straight to POTUS, all we needed was a new POTUS according to #blueanon

Your obsession with me is adorable and misplaced. I'm sure you are just old man confused again about who said what.

I agree with you Biden should have mandated vaccines earlier. Blocked dumb anti vaxxers from being part of society.  Sent more vaccines overseas since our dumb population wouldn't take them

I don't think you want to play the "the president you voted for said this about covid" game.

This.

One president said "It's a hoax. There's no pandemic." knowing it wasn't.  The other was hopeful and correct in assuming the vaccines would basically eradicate it.  But his mistake was thinking there weren't millions of morons that wouldn't take it, and not making sure other countries had it.

Phil, we've been over this before, but first   regarding my obsession given the fact that I can count you as one of the stalkbots.

I know you always like to forget what you said, or what you have repeatedly implied.   But over the course of the pandemic you repeatedly implied that producing copious amounts of tests (ultimately prophylactics marketed as vaccines), ramping up supply chains etc. was relatively simple.    You just had to try harder, have more government edicts come down from on high, have more politicians get up on podiums and say (your) preapproved words.

Now we have a POTUS who made all kinds of Covid promises and he's . . . failed.  Failed miserably.    :frown: :frown:    The only thing saving his ass is the Trump Vaccine prophylactic and the fact that the virus may be wearing itself out.

I read today that they're attributing the uptick on the east coast to Omicron.

Tons of bars in NYC are cancelling shows because of Covid. Hopefully it's a small blip.

Yeah I am confused.  Omicron is supposedly no more severe than Delta, so why is everyone freaking out?  If you are vaccinated, even without a booster, your chance of severe infection is very slim.  Stop canceling crap and catering to the unvaxed.

I think the problem is if you aren’t boosted you are becoming increasingly more like the unvaxxed in terms of immunity.  Is there decent data available around how many boosters have been given?

In terms of immunity yes, but in terms of hospitalization and dying no.  So far there is no indication it is any different than Delta in that aspect, and no one was canceling anything like this for Delta.

Yeah. As per usual our public health organizations are doing a horrible job of figuring out messaging. I’m not opining about who among the twitter commentators has the correct message, but the lack of any clear message from the organizations we should be relying on is frustrating.

My prediction earlier this year was that once vaccines were finished rolling out we’d stop talking about cases and focus on hospitalizations given that eventually it wouldn’t make much sense to treat COVID mutations any different than SARS or other coronaviruses. That turned out to be dead wrong.

Maybe once vaccines become available for all children it will finally happen. Who knows.
