The statement itself is clearly political though. The vaccine got into arms not because Trump promoted it but because billion dollar pharma companies developed it and the FDA approved it. None of that changed between presidents.

It also needs to be remembered that Trump was trying to do everything in his power to circumvent the approval protocols in order to get the vaccine approved before the election, because he thought that would increase his chances at being reelected. Under those circumstances, it would be natural to be skeptical of the then-unapproved vaccine. I was. And I was also glad that, after approval, the vaccine wouldn't be available for me until like 100 million other Americans had been vaccinated. But after a few months and tens of millions of vaccines in arms, I was satisfied that it was safe.

The majority of #blueanon rank and file hated TF out of the concept of a Trump vaccine. 

Fauci was utterly dismissive of a fast development and roll out at first (proven by his years of torturing AIDS patients). 

#blueanon thought leaders talked crap all over the vaccine on social media.

Then a few weeks before they started diving in front of cameras for photo ops at the vaccine roll out.   People like Cuomo openly questioned the viability and raised questions about the lack of testing.  The rhetorical questions were popping all over the place, “would you give your children the Trump vaccine”?
