Those numbers don't make a lot of sense, side by side. I get that hospitalizations include a lot of older cases, but more hospitalizations than new cases 3 weeks ago seems excessive.

all leaders are scared shitless to do anything at this point. The mask guidance update allowing vaxxed folks to go maskless was so unbelievably stupid and damaging while doing absolutely nothing to encourage vaccinations.

So maybe it's better they don't do anything and leave it up to bar owners and airlines to effectively manage public health policy

Any/all healthcare companies should require vaccinations for their employees. I hope airlines start requiring for employees and passengers as well (FFA/CDC forces it).

Also I hope public universities, community colleges, high schools, junior highs, and elementary schools (when it gets approved) require students to have COVID vaccination.

Well don't hold your breath. MAGA governors in the states that are the least vaccinated have enacted laws preventing this from happening. Some have even done things like making private business who have required proof of vaccination for employees or customers, ineligible for state funded grants.
