high risk and old people struggling to get the vaccine in cities and over there in a KS county I've never heard of, it's open to everybody over 18.  These are the same counties that didn't put in one lick of mitigation to stop any spread.  What is wrong with this picture?  How can vaccine rollout be this uneven?

Think about how many vaccines are in a box and how many people live in Stanton County and it might make sense

I have no idea how many are in a box nor do I think that should be our "oh well, lot of them in a box, nothing we can do" response.  Maybe instead of sending a box to each county, these 2000 population counties can regionalize and share a box?

No, and the dude easily outdistanced the rest of the resident CoronaBro's in the perpetual meltdown/drama queen department, which is an amazing feat in of itself given the list of contenders.

Why settle for second when first is available?

do you think sharing boxes across a massive rural region makes a significant (positive) difference in the number of lives saved? And do you think that's a good use of logistics work?

I mean they are driving a long way within their own county in a lot of cases so not sure sharing between counties is a big additional negative.

As you hero Dr. Fauci has said multiple times, the United States isn't (for example) New Zealand.  You can't just shut down a couple of airports and a port and world didn't exactly miss that massive NZ economy.

Meanwhile in Australia the political leaders are trying to convince the populace that there really isn't a recession and nearly a million people (out of less than 30m) aren't really out of work.

Ya. That's working so well in Kentucky. They just started chippin' this week in our four-county region.

On a typical weekday when vaccinations would likely be administered, it is.

Why not hold them on weekends then?  They could hold a mass vaccination in Hays and have 7 counties within an hour from the looks of it.  I have family that drives an hour to get groceries out there.  Look if we care to chip the olds and high risk first, having rural counties advertising first come first serve for 18+ year old seems like a bad rollout.  Who knows if they even used them all before they trashed them.

I would imagine a typical person living in Olathe spends more time behind the wheel per week than a typical citizen of Meade, KS. Why on earth would anyone live in Meade that doesn't work within 15 miles of it? Maybe Steve Dave could weigh in on that.

A few non-olds getting chipped in Hays is not a problem worth dedicating resources to solve. It is such a tiny portion of the vaccine allotment that it probably wouldn't make a single day difference in how quickly you get your shot, but your suggested solutions would definitely take resources from the overall work and lead to fewer old folks in rural counties getting vaccinated. People managing the rollout need to focus on how to get Johnson County from 5000 to 10,000 or 15,000 vaccines per week, not try to get Stanton County to share its allotment of 100/week with Hamilton and Grant County in an effort to keep an unworthy 25 year old in Johnson City from getting chipped before a Kansas Citian itching to get back to a mask-free Falloon

My parents just got the call after having to miss the first one because my mom wasn’t feeling well.  Still over a week away in Joco, though.

I'm not old or fat enough or any of those other things.  I know I'm way down the list and that's fine, my rant is more about how hard it is for priority groups to get chips in cities while the country gives it away to everybody and begs for them to come get chipped.
