So the UK variant has been around for at least a month, right? What has happened to their case numbers, hospitalizations, and deaths since it's been discovered? Obviously we have heard a lot about it being more contagious, has this lead to a sharp increase in actual numbers? I haven't heard a thing about that which I think is my answer.

I know that, it was bad before the variant. Is there actual data that is showing the 75% more contagious stat is being realized? Is this going to be one of these things that the research turned out to miss the mark on? Obviously I hope so, and if they misinterpreted some data or research it's understandable given how quickly everything is moving.

To be fair, there are a lot of people who foresaw Democratic leaders getting less restrictive on lockdowns after January 20.

But once it didn't happen on November 5 it was changed to shortly after January 20!

Yeah, San Jose county is definitely staying locked down, they told the Sharks as much. They are remaining in Phoenix for at least the next two weeks.

i didn't notice any difference when newsom reinstituted the stay at home order and i'm positive i won't notice any difference when it's lifted.

I was eating at outdoor restaurants about once a week but that's it. We also cancelled a trip to an Airbnb in palm springs because they were illegal but we could have probably done it if we wanted to. Nothing in the stay at home order would have changed the case rates in a significant way, though.
