The same Fauci that told us for nearly a month not to wear masks and that wearing masks can actually help spread the virus because people will be touching their face.

I'd definitely be in for a Trump team glossy one pager.

Imagine having even the bare minimum of national leadership for this thing. Would take.

Imagine supporting a party whose leaders tell their constituency to ignore the President and to go out and gather in large groups and party in the midst of a National Health Emergency.    Then turning around and locking down everyone in their homes at the worst possible time after telling them to go party.

Then having the movements chief media supporters write a litany of articles that start something like this, "You'll have a better chance of dying from _______ then you will from Covid" or "Don't let Trump use Covid to consolidate power" or similar.

Looks like August 29th is the first week where deaths didn't materially exceed the predicted death count for the US

I just saw someone say we could potentially get to 400,000 deaths by end of year.  That seems insane.

Seems high, but maybe it depends a little on how they count people who also get the flu.

I think that if there is anything to vitamin D lowering the mortality rate, it's not insane at all that we would have a lot of deaths this fall and winter.

400k+ deaths by end of the year is from the IMHE model that doesn't have the best track record

My mom told me (at least relative to the hospitals she works with) that they aren't necessarily worried about increased covid cases in the winter, but they are very worried about hospital resources with covid during the winter due to the seasonal increase in other illnesses. Mask wearing should help that out though.

it also doesn't get super cold out here and most offices and churches and indoor dining is closed which should help.

U.S. hospitalizations down 52% in last 60 days

Testing levels up 23% in the last 7 days.   As our good friends in the German CDC pointed out, increases in cases are likely attributable to the increase in the volume of testing.

Positive rate lowest level in 3 months.

Let's not go sucking each other off quite yet.  Even CDC says to not trust the newest weeks.

Yeah I know, I posted the link earlier as good news.  It also says "Note: Data in recent weeks is incomplete"
