Because this dude was an enemy combatant. 

Now what could be debatable is whether this guy was unlawful or lawful enemy combatant. 

But since the US and Iran are not technically at war and since Quds et al has rightfully and finally been labeled a terrorist organization and given his history of terrorism leadership he was an unlawful enemy combatant.

The Israeli’s wanted to take him out in 2015 but in a shock to no one, Barry “making Iran the hegemone” Obama and John “seditious” Kerry informed the Iranians.

I thought you were highly critical of using extrajudicial force to eliminate enemy combatants over the last 10 years or so.

If you followed the program, you'd know that many of the strikes were based on the most  of information and many times it was one bad guy on the payroll getting another bad guy taken out because bad guy 1 didn't want to have bad guy 2 around anymore.    This guy was a certified bad guy.
