Over the last two nights it has become clear to me that regardless of who gets the crat nomination that this is over and Trump will coast to victory. He has broken your party's back with an assist ironically from the media. The crats at this point will not be able to unite around one person because they are dunked in half.

Consider that the union member baby boomer crats maybe asked to support someone who would like to raise taxes on their fixed income to pay for universal health care that they already have from their 40 years at GM. They are not going to do it, the crats have mumped themselves into a corner that they will not get out of.

Dust off that deed to the farm and get that badboy in play this is a stone cold lead pipe cinch lock.

They’ve committed to socialism to own the ‘pubs. They can only blame themselves for losing again to a blowhard reality star. Kinda depressing to be honest. They only had 4 years to figure it out and now they’re just blowing gaskets at the guy they lost to is all they have. Sad. Super sad.

He sucks, dude. My dad got upset with me two months ago about how shitty he is, but Dems have no clue or leadership, so we’ll deal with this for another 4 years. He actually rough ridin' sucks!!! But the Dems being clueless is the story.

beating down two parties of career politicians, the entire media, and lobbyists for 5 years is not suckiness it is greatness and an accomplishment that I promise you NO other human in the history of the world could have done seriouscat. We are way beyond luck and coincidence at this point.

Trump and his strategists are GTO as eff. I also find it hard to believe the Dems have much of a shot at beating him this time around either. Yeah, Trump was aided by a colossal blunder by the dems last time around — the DNC choosing Hillary over Bernie — but good grief it’s shot show.

Good dude and seemingly pretty good pres Obama was vilified by the right as a lefty socialist loon, but he was always pretty centrist imo.

Now, as other have stated, half his own party seems to think an Obama-type platform is Dem in name only.

I tend to see Trump as a buffoon, but damn if he hasn’t waxed his political foes’ asses time after time.

Is this just an intense feeling you have? It isn’t rooted in any analysis of the data or rational argument. I know you are self reflective enough to know that you have some of the most idio-syncretic political views around and thus represent a constituency of one, but your own lens seems to interfere in your analysis of how the rest of the US electorate votes.

What data do you speak of? I do think that a huge part of the “non-Twitter” democratic base would have stayed home and not voted for Bernie. I think that pool of people is larger than the pool of anti-Hillary Bernie supporters.

Bernie isn’t a Democrat, he’s never been elected to anything as a democrat. He’s a self-stated socialist and Trump would eat him alive in a general election for that.

My main thought is that the super-progressive left is not nearly as large as their outsized public voice would indicate. Biden’s current lead would seem to support that theory. I also think that the only way to lose right leaning moderates and idio-syncratites like me in an election against Trump would be to nominate someone like Bernie.

Hillary beat him by 12 percentage points in a primary election consisting of the most active part of the electorate, what data or analysis shows that he would have outperformed her against Trump?
