Our foreign enemies do not have a constitutional right to free speech. I hope that clears up why the federal government can insist that public platforms like Facebook take responsibility to avoid disseminating Chinese and Russian propaganda.
If you're old AF like Alito and want to compare it to print media, it would be like if the federal government could tell newspapers that they can't print full page ads taken out by foreign governments that masquerade as news stories.

@ you. This goes far beyond unilaterally declared "election interference". In #blueanon's world, any mean word on social media against a #blueanon candidate is "election interference". But again, this went well beyond election interference, and it's just
to watch #blueanon meltdown and rage out about Musk and Twitter now. The terms disinformation et. al in modern parlance were born and bred right out of the think tanks and backrooms of our own intelligence agencies . . . which you guys used to hate, but now love.
It's absolutely fascinating to watch a movement where the prior iterations would hold rallies and marches against government censorship. Now fully onboard with censoring everything they don't like, and ready to assign all matter of intelligence agencies and linked NGO's to it's censoring bidding. Which in turns gives us hilarity like the cackling Harry Potter fan girl weirdo of DHS's Ministry of Information fame.
