Help Little SF Meet a Player
« on: March 07, 2019, 09:16:42 AM »
Even though basketball is sort of stupid and no one really cares about it, I am taking Little SF to his first game at the OOD Saturday. He really wants to fist bump or take a pic with a player. Do they do anything before the game or after where this would be possible? What time and what area would be best?

Thanks to all those with high OODIQ

If they win, they'll probably do a lap all the way around in front of the the front row of regular seats and offer to bump fists or high-five and it's totally up to you if you want to reciprocate or not.

they used to come out about 15 minutes after the game to do post game radio interviews but that was a long time ago not sure if current

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Yeah, I'd say get there early and be ready to stick around.  Make sure little SF is in his frattiest EMAW gear.

I'll be there, not sure where Mrs. Wacky's fam is putting us, but if it's close (I assume it is), you can bring him on down by us to meet the  players.

So it’s seems like after is the best oppo? Was hoping for something before. Will be getting close to my bedtime after a drive back to KC. Should just take off tomorrow and show up at Barry’s marketing class with Little SF holding a sign or something.

This would completely violate my never meet internet people policy, but would consider if Little SF could fist bump Diarria (SP?)

I shot Matt Hall a message about meeting players after the game ...

Quote
Very normal! He should do it. Go to the tunnel side about 10 min after the game and just hang out and wait. Lots of kids will be there. But this game could be different with a likely post game celebration.

Sweet thanks. Seems like a better plan than sending my kid to Wacky’s section.

Was only partly joking about you stealing my kid Wacks. If I see a guying wearing a WackyCat08 shirt with good seats, I’ll be sure to say hello.

Pro tip:  anyone can walk down in the aisle to any seat before and after game.

Storm the court.

This seems like the best plan. They won’t throw Little SF in jail. He’ll get to see players, get to spend some time with security. A night he’ll never forget.

Sorry, no fist bumps. Seats were on opposite end of the tunnel and with the celebration we figured it would take a bit and wanted to head back to KC. He was pretty sleepy.

Alternate version. No fist bumps. Dad and Gramps SF took Little SF on his first pub crawl (including the Lou!!!) and had too many beers and I was pretty tired after sobering up during the game so we left after seeing the boys get the trophy. He did get his first Sandstorm!!!!!!

Good times were had by all even without the fist bumps. Thanks everyone.

Did he chant?

He didn’t and I was a bit disappointed. Took him drinking all day and he couldn’t even show enough appreciation to drop a few F bombs in celebration. It was his first time so I gave him a break, but that’s the last time I’ll put up with that or I’ll send him to Waks’ fancy people section.

My kids didn't because they aren't repressed white boys. We did sing Mo Bamba as a family though, to the enjoyment of the family sitting in front of us, the only people near us who weren't 80.
