Starting Pulp Fiction right now!

 :excited:

:tappingfootguy:

One of my absolute favorites. Pulp Fiction is addictive. Can't count how many times I've watched it, or parts of it.  :drink:

Good parts, but I need to watch it again. I was sleepy.  :frown:

The Great Gatsby is more of a play than a movie. It's funny how elaborate the party scenes are, since every other scene is dialogue driven. Visually it was amazing, though.

Exit Through the Gift Shop

Pretty cool. I'm not usually into documentaries, but this one held my attention the whole way through.  Very good.

The Sweet Hereafter

Can't really decide yet.  A bit of an odd movie with the chronology jumbled around a little bit.  It was very sad.

Indeed it was.  You had this to say:

Blindly went to Exit Through the Gift Shop last night - one of the most refreshing films I've seen in a while.

So there's that.

Watching "Apocalypse Now Redux" tonight on AMC. Granted, it's been around for awhile, but it's always a treat. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" is one of the greatest movie lines ever.

Promised Land ... decent.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World ... worth watching once, very odd, weird to see steve carell and keira knightley together.
Premium Rush ... meh.
Gangster Squad ... fun actors to watch, story was pretty much all not historically accurate, but i enjoyed it.

I haven't been to a movie at the theatre that wasn't rated G in over a year.  I'm taking next week off and am thinking about catching a nice flick.  What movies that are out are living up to the hype and which ones are not? I was thinking about seeing Fast 6 but that Hangover 3 and Iron Man 3 could be good too!  Maybe I'll see more than one? Who know's it'll be a surprise!

i'm not a star trek guy and i also enjoyed the latest one, and the one before.

there seem to be a bunch of funny/interesting things that only star trek people would understand, because at times the audience reacted to things and i had no idea why.

I cried during Star Trek. Those big 3D glasses hide tears very well.

Do you have to see the previous ones to know what's going on or is each movie it's own story line?

The Star Trek from a couple years ago was an origin story, so, no.

Recent Blumpkin Movie bombs:

Star Trek: Into Darkness - Meh, I liked the guy playing the villian and seeing Robocop is an obvious plus but it felt more ADHDish the more I reflect about it.

God Bless America - Not bad.  Two psychos killing reality stars kept my attention.  It got a little preachy and the characters were not even possible (psychologically), but eff it...it was fun.

Hangover III - Much like the Transformers redux trilogy, this should have stopped with the first one.

Abduction - Blumpkin GF made me watch this crap.  I was waiting for the main character to turn into a wolf but that didn't happen.  I was hoping it would turn into An American Werewolf in Pittsburgh type movie, but instead got that crap.

it got dynamite reviews.  i'm going to watch it tonight.

Also, Apocalypse Now was the best Vietnam movie i'd ever watched.  The Redux version was probably too long though.  A few of the scenes weren't necessary.

Man, you just got me thinking of all the great Vietnam movies out there and which one is the best.  There are four obvious contenders: Apocolypse Now, The Deer Hunter, Full Metal Jacket and Platoon.  Hard to say but I might put The Deer Hunter as 1 and A.N. as 2.  Then round it out with Full Metal Jacket and finally Platoon.
