Watched Beginners last night with Ewen Mcgregor and Shoshana from Inglorious Basterds.  It was decent.  A little more morose than I would have preferred, but still good.  Shoshana is probably my favorite actress ever.

That is a great synopsis and I agree about everything you said. Also imo, movie could have used more Christopher Plummer. Also more Shoshana smiling or talking or doing anything on camera

In Time

I can understand the harsh reviews on rotten tomatoes because it was kind of cheesy and its message didn't exactly seem subtle.  But at the end of the day, it was pretty darn fun.

The fam watched Dark Knight Rises this morning (merry Xmas right?) while I read the master dating thread. Pretty sure I was the most entertained/enlightened of the group.

I think when everyone discussed In Time on here it wasn't that it was a bad movie, it was that the idea was so great that my expectations were raised immediately, and it did not meet those expectations. Decent movie, but it could have easily been great.

Just found this website and figured anyone with Netflix might enjoy it. You can see what movies are streaming on netflix and sort them by genre's and reviews.

http://instantwatcher.com/genres/19?min_rating=6

Also I just watched Basic Instinct for the first time last night.  :sdeek: Really enjoyed it.

Django

It was an adventure-action-love spaghetti western with a lot of laughs and violence.  Just flat out fun.  Jamie Foxx was incredible.  Leo was incredible.  German guy from Inglorious Basterds was incredible...one of my favorite characters ever maybe.

If you like to see movies, then you'll like Django.

Going to the movies by oneself.  I've never tried it, but think it might be fun.  Anyone with experience?

What got me thinking was I like to watch old movies and westerns by myself.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Yeah, I really started taking advantage of this when I lived in Western Kansas. It can be pretty peaceful.

True story, I've on more than one occasion driven to a movie theater to by their popcorn and take it home to watch a movie at my house because I like movie theater popcorn so much.  Did you know that stuff is like 1600 calories for a large?  I usually make it through one and a half  NOM NOM NOM, plus a gigantic cherry coke/ pepsi  :drink:
