Just watched this, great flick. Gosling is going the DiCaprio route turning from teenage hearthrob(notebook) into all around badass.

Also the soundtrack is amazing, really makes the movie.

The new Underworld movie is awful. But on the bright side Kate Beckensale has never looked better.

Has there ever been a good one? I don't know why they keep making them.

because there are people like bloodfart.

Recently watched Frailty again.  I really enjoy this movie.  While I don't like horror movies that have tons of gore, I do like the suspense thriller genre immensely.

Have you seen the original "The Thing" ?  Not the recent remake.

you mean John Carpenter's version or the original The Thing (From Another World)?

Both are great.

Speaking of Ryan Gosling--Crazy, Stupid Love was fairly entertaining.  He's money.  If you want a RomCom you can tolerate, men, this is pretty good.

Saw Super 8 and enjoyed it as well. The first half was more compelling than the monster/chase in the second half, but that's JJ Abrams. I was on the tail end of the Super 8 craze of the late 70s--had a friend try to make a monster movie with one of those cameras. It's too bad today's youth will never know anything about film.  People seem to love that instagram, though.

Descendants is one of the first Oscar Nominees I've seen. It's sad, but not depressing. Hawaii looks great and George Clooney is   It's not as good as Sideways, but it's worth seeing in a theater.

Great report. Totally agree on Super 8; would like to see the other two.

I found all the lingering driving shots with that goofy ethereal 80s music a bit much.  The action setpieces were fine, especially the one in the elevator.

"The Vow" sucked. Don't let your women force you into it, just tell them it's not fanning approved. However, "the help" is an amazing movie. A must watch. Made fanning cry a bit.

That movie is really solid.  The one main character who takes Frodo under his wing is now the star of Sons of Anarchy, I believe.  I heard the sequal kind of sucked.

I didn't cry, which is rare because pretty much everything makes me cry (menopause), but I did really enjoy this movie.  I'd like to see it win Best Picture, but I have a feeling that silent movie is going to win.

Just saw Take Shelter with Michael shannon, and it was really really good.  A really slow build, but it seemed like my heart was pumping fast the whole time, which is a compliment for a character driven drama.  Id say it was the best movie I've seen since black swan came out, def recommend.

Crazy, Stupid, Love surprised me by how much I actually liked it.  Gosling was awesome in it.
