We finally saw Top Gun: Maverick in the theater.  I don't see many movies in the theater but this was one I really wanted to see on the big screen but we just hadn't been able to make it yet.  SO GOOD.  I mean this movie just vaulted to the top of my all time faves I think.  Action, emotion, comedy, and just the right amount of nostalgia.  Tom Cruise was amazing as usual.  I loved it.  I just absolutely loved it. My wife loved it as well. I think I might take the kids next week if it's still in the theater.
Went last night to this with Mrs Dave. Maybe I had too high expectations but I thought it was very boring. Kept checking the time to see if it was almost over yet. Probably just not the kind of movie for me and a ME problem tbh.

To each his own.

But just curious, which incredibly intense and well shot action scene involving fighter jets blowing stuff up was the most boring to you you dumb idiot?

Ha ha jk.  People enjoy different things.  Some people love great movies with tons of great action, acting, and just the right amount of nostalgia to make it emotionally impactful and some people like other things that are definitely way stupider and dumber but oh well.

after seeing Nope, it's clear Jordan Peele has a Get Out problem because i'm going to expect that level of mastery with each of his films and Nope just didn't do it for me. probably 30 minutes too long. worth seeing though.

Where the Crawdads Sing - mrstdaver’s choice.  I’m just going to assume the book is amazing based on how crappy the movie is

I caught an early screening of BULLET TRAIN on Tuesday and it did not disappoint.  Lots of action and good old fashioned blood splattered violence mixed with a surprising amount of comedy.

Saw Bullet Train and absolutely loved it. It is either amazing or I am squarely the target audience.

been eyeing this one. will def watch after this recommendo
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Currently watching Valley Girl and it is so good. Young Nic Cage and Bradley Whitford.

“Why can’t you just punish me like Stacey’s parents?”

It is apparently some guy named Michael Bowen and not Bradley Whitford

In the Line of Duty: Blaze of Glory has some great early Whitford.  Bonus, he goes against crime duo oscar Campbell and Lori Loughlin

Not going to lie. I was pretty letdown by Licorice Pizza. Not sure it was worth the hype.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Just rewatched Pleasantville, probably the first time in 20 years, what a delightful movie. I think Reese Witherspoon is my favorite actor
