I don't remember the last time I went to the movie theater.. finally went and watched top gun maverick. my American flag pole is still fully erect and the nostalgia was great. I probably could've sat down and watched it again right after it finished.

also saw Maverick in theaters, very very good.

watched Spiderhead on netflix with miles teller and chris hemsworth. interesting concept (based on short story) but not executed well, did not enjoy.

It was OK. It’s not as good as Do America, but there’s some funny stuff. I think it will be funnier on the second watch because the comedy is driven just from the absurdity of Beavis & Butthead and not laugh out loud moments.  It’s not nearly as good as a classic like Step Brothers, but it’s the same kind of thing to me.

There’s a couple things that I laughed harder at while talking about them with my cousins than when I watched the movie.

The Card Counter 2.5/7

I had seen some previews for this, but I did zero research beyond that. I was happy that there was a story beyond just playing cards, but it wasn't one that I enjoyed. I thought this movie might be kind of funny since it had Tiffany Haddish, but it wasn't meant to be that kind of movie.

The score is harsh and that probably has more to do with it not being my type of movie.

Yeah, Maverick is was a total Ameriboner. Like yla and blast said, just an awesome theater experience. Saw it at the Warren Old Town in the showcase room on July 5. The audience in attendance started clapping and gave a standing ovation. I’ve never experienced that before.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Really? I've been to multiple movies where that has happened. I always think it's strange. Like, is the projectionist supposed to come out and take a bow?

eff same here. I would def put that in the pet peeves thread. It's so dumb to clap at a movie, no one is there to receive the applause, only exception is the screening with the cast/crew.

In the Progressive "Young Home Owners Turning Into Their Parents" commercial one girl does this and the guy's response is, "Don't clap. No one who made the movie is here."

Wife and I tried to watch Bohemian Rhapsody last night.  Both fell asleep before the halfway point.  It is incredibly boring.  Does it get any better in the 2nd half?

It's not a good movie but the last 25ish minutes is definitely the best part
