Oh Lucy! - great movie, depressing as fuuuuuuuuck. the trailer did not prepare me at all. won't give spoilers but it really isn't what you expect when they throw around will ferrell's name associated with the thing.

Not for everyone, that's for sure.

I am really looking forward to Ready Player One.  The book was awesome.
I loved the crap out of the book. Should be great on the big screen as well.

I read it, and I'm still not sure whether it was good or if it was just an mediocre story with a huge dump of nostalgic references thrown in. The fact that Greg likes it, when he is likely too young to get most of the references, seems like a check in the positive column
While I admit that I didn't get many of the 80's TV references made throughout the book, I understood all of the movie and video game references which is more my speed.  goEMAW if you the have the time, read the book before the movie, I highly recommend it.

I do want to see Ready Player One. (I love the 80s.) Am I going to have to delay until I read the book now? I am often conflicted on that because the book will inevitably be better than the movie so is the movie going to suck in comparison to the book?

I have no way of answering that yet, but I truly loved the book.  I had fun reading it from beginning to end....I really enjoyed myself.  It's not everyday that you can say that a book made you simply have fun.

There are some things that I have heard but Spielberg said he really wanted to do right by the book. So maybe he will, maybe he won't.

Ready Player One was VERY different than the book, and still awesome.  My whole family loved it, but my 11 year old son and I were high fiving through the whole thing....we are video game nerds, so it was like a big deal movie for us.

Also I saw the trailer for that infinity war before Ready Player One.

It looked so stupid.  But to be fair I haven't watched any of the comic book movies from the past 6-ish years so what do I know.

Finally watched STAR WARS:  THE LAST JEDI the other day.  Here are some thoughts:

LOVED when Luke called a light sabre a "Laser sword".  I rewound it like 5 times because it was so funny.  Why did he call it that anyway?

I think some better communication would have saved a lot of lives.  Like why didn't that one leader that took over for Princess Leah just tell the stud pilot guy what her plan was?  He asked several times and she didn't say anything so naturally he assumed she didn't have one and took drastic measures.  Didn't make sense to me.

Needed more Chewbaca.

Didn't understand most of the whole Casino part.

I really liked the scene where he killed snoke and then they fought those red guys.  Pretty badass.

Overall grade:  Pretty good.
