The Shape of Water. Critics loved it. I did not. Started with a fun premise: let’s center the story around a 1950’s top secret government installation, but as told through the eyes of the cleaning staff who are given unfettered access to everything. And Michael Shannon is great, even if he’s playing the same “Fascist Christian Bigot” character he seems to play a lot and Hollywood just loves. But the rest of the story was just weird, and not weird in a fun, enjoyable way. I’d skip.
