Finally watched Ex Machina and had two questions at the end:

Does Ava just leave Caleb to die in the house?  I assume he's locked in that room, and will eventually starve to death.

How is Ava going to charge herself out in the real world?

Did not finish Dr. Strange. Watched about half and it was too weird in a sucky way. Does it get better?
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Manchester by the sea. Just super sad and super boring. Just pure monotony occasionally broken up by some heart wrenching sadness. I hated it.

Genius was enjoyable in a somewhat boring way. Colin Firth is a stud.

LaLa Land made me cry. Did not expect that. Overall it was kinda hokey but there were certain scenes that were just so well done.

Finally saw Hidden Figures. Damn, was good.

Saw Hacksaw last week. Did not enjoy. Really good story that was absolutely destroyed by Mel Gibson's horrible direction.

I think it's pretty cool that the star of such trash as Mad Max Behond the Thunderdome turned out to be a pretty great director.

Thunderdome is certainly a cultural impact academy nominee

Mel's not a bad actor, either. He's an awful person, but very skilled at his craft.

I'm honestly amazed he can still get work. Like was he the ONLY director that could have made Hacksaw Ridge a success? Surely someone else could have pulled it off.

Hollywood is pretty forgiving.  Roman Polanski was able to get plenty of work and received all kinds of awards after raping a 13-year-old.

Hacksaw is the first movie Gibson has directed in 10 years, so it's not like he's getting tons of work.
