TRUE STORY ALERT: my very first movie theater experience was at the AMC Parkway 14 (it was Ward Parkway 22 back then iirc).

It is currently Disney's thing to remake all of their properties in full live action. So far they have all been pretty successful. While technically the first Pete's Dragon was mostly live action, this one seems to be upping the ante. That being said, the reviews are glowing so far.

Since I haven't seen either (and probably won't), you should go see Pete's Dragon and let me know which one is better. That way if I am desperate for a redbox or something I'll know which to rent. TIA

Saw Sausage Party.

It is pretty fun and incredibly vulgar. It also doesn't try to be politically correct at all, which isn't a surprise.

Sad thing for me is that the theme / entire movie's key message was anti-religion / made fun of people for having religious beliefs.

As a Christian, that bothered me enough to hurt my enjoyment. If that doesn't bother you, and you don't mind offensive non politically correct humor, you will really enjoy this movie.

I enjoyed it quite a bit but agree the religion bashing was needlessly heavy for what seemed like a pretty light movie.

Pete's Dragon was pretty good. Had to fight back tears. Was a little concerned by the kid in front of me cheering every time the dragon got hurt. Future serial killer?

Its full length. I can't confirm how good it is because a Colorado friend is a bad influence but it was absolutely insane.

kind of nodded off a couple of times in the middle of Pete's Dragon. Lil mikey thought it was okay.
