Room: a sandwich made of two turds of the most boring halves of any movie ever surrounding a really good scene.

I'll allow that the first half set up the great scene, but man, what a rough way to get there, and then you're left with another hour of turd city before it mercifully ends.

the meat in the sandwich you're describing was maybe the most powerful thing I've ever watched in a movie.
That's fair. If it would have ended then I would have enjoyed it much more.

I may watch this and cut it off when I see what I think is "the scene"

That's a great idea and you will know. I'd give it maybe three to five minutes after the scene before cutting it off. Once you start to think it's getting boring again, trust your instincts.

The Big Short.

Infuriating.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Watched the last Hunger Games movie - maybe the ending was a bit more clever in the book?  Really on the nose down the stretch.  Considering there was little of value in the 3rd movie, they really could of spent a little more time on some subtlety

I have a feeling you are going to hate the end of the Divergent series.

Nothing different from what happened, but I just wanted it done mediocre to well.

I was trying to avoid spoilers but screw it - They had 4 rough ridin' movies to foreshadow but instead you have Donald Sutherland go "Julianne Moore is evil too" and then she holds a meeting and goes "How 'bout some Hunger Games?"  Everything was just blatantly shown to you in the most obvious way.  Maybe the book is the same way as it was meant for 12 year old girls or maybe PSH's death caused scenes to be lost, but that was awful.

Also, they added in some goblin-esque fantasy creatures that were very WTF and not a part of the world until then.  If there were trolls and dragons and wizards or something in the first few then fine, but all of a sudden this is a world where these things exist?

Those goblin-esque creatures were mutations (mutts) similar to all those different mutt creatures that were created as part of the gamescape in the Hunger Games  - i.e. those big dog things that had the eyes of dead tributes, the tracker-jackers (wasps), the mockingjays (birds that echo the sound you make). It was better explained in the book that the capital was using the technology it had developed in the Hunger Games on the city battlefield.

Also it was pretty clear from early that President Coin was not good (in the book). I am not sure if people got that in the movie since I already knew.

Fair point on the technology.  I forgot about that part.

Coin being bad is one thing but having to go "Hunger Games?" was really heavy handed

Divergent sucks balls. It has nothing on hunger games. Ms. wacky tried to get me into it, but it's like watching soft core porn after you've had the real deal. No thanks. Chi, I do agree to an extent. After everything was over, I was hoping for at least a 20 minute snap shot of what life was like afterwards.

 :D

You did get a snapshot of what life was like....

Also, Divergent was great. I am not sure how the ending is going to turn out though because of what happened in the book. I haven't seen it yet, I actually need to go see it.
