Transylvania 2: it was not horrible!

Rebel Without A Cause (had never seen it all): it was okay. #Acting has come a long way.

Agreed with Rusty re. Mad Max and Ex Machina.  Ex Machina is my favorite movie I've seen this year, actually.  The first 10 minutes of mad max were rad, and then it was like, ok.  enough.

hey bad person, maybe you could say that you agree with rusy and i. or whatever don't.

Getting ready to watch Ex Machina, and settle this debate.  I will warn you, I very much enjoyed Mad Max.  However, my sincere hope is that the two are not mutually exclusive, and that I can build bridges of understanding and love both movies.   WE WILL SEE!!!!

Watched Cinderella. The Fairy Godmother transformation scene with HBC was hilarious and well done. I also enjoyed that this movie was a Game of Thrones reunion of sorts. But most of the movie was kinda slow and meh.

Also, I don't want to start another fight here, but Tangled better than Frozen? Granted, Tangled is a criminally underrated movie, but the music alone in Frozen elevates it to another league. It had 4 or 5 songs that are better than anything in Tangled. It's a only a few numbers short of a full fledged Broadway musical.

Rounding out the list of kids movies I've seen recently, Home. Kinda funny, pretty average.

Watched Mad Max Fury Road. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. There's no shame in enjoying a dopey movie with amazing action and visuals.

After that I decided to watch the first three Maxes. Never saw them before. The first one was complete crap. Can't believe they made a sequel. The second was very dated but at least decent. I can understand why people thought it was good at the time. Then there's Thunderdome. Oh my god. What a crap spectacle. Can't believe they made a fourth, but glad they did.
It was a very shitty movie. What was up with that guitar playing dork? Completely ruined the vibe. Like, ok, you guys were kind of scary kind of looked like clowns but now you look like a bunch of irl clowns. Also the night shots looked like they were shot during the day and they just changed the color of everything. Highly recommended if you like two hours of cars running into each other though

Well it's definitely dopey, but if you suspend disbelief and just enjoy how completely over the top it is, it's very entertaining.

Ex Machina. What a pretentious load of crap. The worst thing about this movie is not the movie itself, but all the dumbasses waxing philosophical about how deep this movie is. Like Newman, there's not more to this movie than it appears - there's less. At least the inventor was somewhat entertaining.

 :Woot:

They're completely different genres. Mad Max was a well executed if brainless action movie. Ex Machina was supposedly a "thoughtful" science fiction suspense thriller that had very little thought or suspense. What made it good?

Official tastemaker stance: both movies (films) are completely enjoyable masterpieces. Probably take 1 and 2 in best movies (films) of the year
