Agreed with Rusty re. Mad Max and Ex Machina.  Ex Machina is my favorite movie I've seen this year, actually.  The first 10 minutes of mad max were rad, and then it was like, ok.  enough.

I am hitting opening night of Hotel Transylvania 2 tomorrow.  Really looking forward to it.  First one was a masterpiece.

Dark City
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118929/
I had higher expectations from Proyas

I thought this movie was fantastic, though maybe that's because I had no expectations going into it.
I'm saying that I did like Dark City

anyone else seen it? what made it good?

I haven't seen any of these.  Would I enjoy them or be repulsed?

I liked the first one OK.  But it's kind of like the progression of Die Hard in that in the first one they were just some normal guys, racing some cars, committing some small time crimes and doing anything for family.  Now (and I've only seen the 1st half of the move) somehow they've morphed into some elite black ops team that works for the government and they do things like parachute out of an airplane in their cars, drive them off of 100 foot cliffs and drive out the windows of skyscrapers and then land in the skyscraper next door (twice). The franchise fell hard into the bigger is better trap for 7 straight movies and this end result is just silly.
