Recent motion picture viewing - Add your own!

In a lot of ways the recent "Dark web vs Deep Web" controversy reminds me of the early 1990's tales and movie depictions of Internet pizza ordering.  No one saw it coming.

Watched Mad Max Fury Road. I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. There's no shame in enjoying a dopey movie with amazing action and visuals.

After that I decided to watch the first three Maxes. Never saw them before. The first one was complete crap. Can't believe they made a sequel. The second was very dated but at least decent. I can understand why people thought it was good at the time. Then there's Thunderdome. Oh my god. What a crap spectacle. Can't believe they made a fourth, but glad they did.
It was a very shitty movie. What was up with that guitar playing dork? Completely ruined the vibe. Like, ok, you guys were kind of scary kind of looked like clowns but now you look like a bunch of irl clowns. Also the night shots looked like they were shot during the day and they just changed the color of everything. Highly recommended if you like two hours of cars running into each other though

Also, I loved "Ex Machina". Probably my favorite movie since "Nebraska". Also I mentioned it in the credit card thread, but I was watching this on a Singapore Air flight and we were about to arrive and it got paused while the pilot was making his announcements in like four languages and the Asian lady was frozen on the screen for what seemed like an eternity. Was a very lol moment.

The animation in Brave is absolutely stunning.  However, equally stunning is the lack of emotion, imagination, or anything remotely interesting in the script.  As tedious a story as I can remember from Disney, luckily somewhat saved by Pixar magic.

Is Inside Out a girl Disney movie? Or just a gender-neutral pixar one? I forgot about that one. I cried at Inside Out in the theatre. In fact, it was playing on one of my flights this week and I was sort of watching it off and on with the sound off and MAY have cried when the blue character runs the controls and the bus stops.

I actually didn't cry for Inside Out. (although I have cried during at least 3 pixar/dreamworks movies in the last couple years)  My wife audibly sobbed in the movie theater though.  She just lost it in a way that I hadn't seen her lose it in the theater since King Kong. (she didn't know kong got killed at the end)

Tangled, Toy Story 3 and most inexplicably Wreck-It-Ralph.  And a little further back you of course have Up, and also got misty eyed during How To Train Your Dragon.

One of my friends saw Black Mass and said it was the worst movie she has ever seen. Terrible make-up on Johnny Depp and one of the characters had all his lines dubbed and his voice/lips were distractingly off the whole movie.

No. She doesn't usually make outrageous or entertaining  posts.
