That just reminded me I never saw this movie. Or the second part. And I doubt I ever will. What's shitty book.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Well you probably never saw the second part because it isn't out yet.

It's all good. This is a two week backlog of reviews you all have been dying to hear.

Went and watched Black Mass tonight (with Dalvin Warmack nonetheless). Very good, with an amazing cast. I wish it was an hour longer. There were zero scenes that I was uninterested in, and there are so many interesting characters and relationships that take place over the course of 10 years that I can't believe it was only 2 hours long. How the hell is The Departed longer?

Side conversation: my buddy and I were discussing how difficult it is to see someone as a different character after seeing them for so many hours as a specific character. For instance, Jesse Plemons as Todd or Landry, Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock, and of course Adam Scott as Ben. Anyway, we thought this could be an issue going forward as more and more good actors get into television series going forward.

Yeah. I think the score is probably what kept it from winning an Oscar the year it came out.  :th_twocents:

I love the movie, don't get me wrong.  I ain't Datalew12 for nothing.

But that score!  Frankly it tarnishes the entire film.

go for it.  i will use technology to my advantage by googling "goonies score" every week or so.
you get on the superhighway and ding the flick, i will find it and rebuke your opinion so rough ridin' hard your head will spin.

here's what people like you, who can't appreciate a score relative to its supporting technology, don't get- the score balances the flick.  the flick balances the score.

an old high school art teacher of mine used to have an expression that i think sums it up pretty well, "simplicity is the key to fine design".

I was dragged to it by the lady and I was pleasantly surprised. It is a solid entry in the Disney movie canon.

Yeah, it took some pleading, but I finally convinced my kids and wife to watch it with me tonight.
