Anyone know if the elements of Gone Girl that showcase a woman's desire to eat, gain weight and become relaxed in her appearance are referenced in the book?

Been a minute since I've read it but the book framed it as partially relaxed in appearance and partially trying to change appearance so not to be recognized

Thank you. Didn't seem to come across that way in the motion picture, but perhaps that is what was intended.

Somewhere in Time remains an interesting idea.

One I almost believe in.

do I have to watch the first 2 to know what is going on?

none are worth watching, but no.  hell, in this one the two main actors are playing characters completely unrelated to their roles in the first two films on a different continent yet have their prison inmates watch the HC1&2 DVDs they "starred" in

I thought it was mostly motivated to change her appearance but also it was a bit of a relief for her to not have to be "perfect".

The book of life - pretty fun.  cool visually. feels wrong though to have a story about mexican mythology and culture with the mexicans voiced by channing tatum and christina applegate doing mexican accents. kinda racist?

Baggage Claim - this is a horrible romantic comedy, modeled after decent romantic comedies but it also about flying everywhere on airplanes like in the credit card thread but if you were an airline employee instead of a pointshacker

Woman In Gold sets the gold standard for movies about art restitution.  I liked it.  Kind of reminded me of Saving Mr. Banks in that a boring topic is made kind of exciting through the use of flashbacks.  I enjoy history.  The actress that played the lady was really good and Ryan Reynolds was pretty good too.

Terminator Genysis: A lot of fun - would recommend.

Self/Less: I enjoyed this movie, the action, and the premise. I could see why people aren't high on it, but that's not to say it isnt worth seeing.

First one, I think.  Probably not recent and belongs in a diff thread.  The one with Loki.

"The following" is a "horror movie" with @katdaddy taste. Great story line. Very creative.

It's a classic tech caper flick from before tech. Very adorable.

Makes sense.  My opinion of it was based on me seeing it near its original release time, so that's pretty dated.

Imagine a horror movie, where the monster/spirit/ghost/etc. only follows the person who had sex last. That's how they pass on the curse. You tell me, spracs!  :Wha:

Just came out on demand last night, friend. Ms. wacky and I turned out the lights and made a vodka drink. It's such a silly movie, but very entertaining. Real life wackster quote last night to ms. wacky when she started trying to break down the silliness: "Are you not entertained?!"

It Follows?  Only thing i could find under the following was the tv show and a movie from the 80s.
