I saw Tusk. Don't see Tusk. The beginning is funny, but then you get to the part about the walrus, which is awful and inane and unfunny. Jonny Depp comes in and rescues it for one scene with a tremendous accent, but that's pretty much it. Oh, it also has fat Haley Joel Osmet in it.

True, but it lost money at the box office, and wasn't a big deal at the time.  It eventually was recognized as a  sci-fi watermark film, as it should be.  I'm predicting that Ex Machina (great movie, so-so at the box office) will be like that eventually.

This is probably accurate. Both, like all sci-fi classics, utilize symbols and characters within their respective films to discuss broader and deeper topics.

Draft Day

Pretty good movie about the NFL Draft assuming you have never seen an NFL Draft or have any idea of what the value of one draft pick is compared to other draft picks.

Because the film is going to teach you these things or because they are totally off on these things?

Watched the Kurt Cobain documentary. Wow, man.

Pretty wild stuff, man. He didn't stand a chance against himself. I enjoyed the use of animation throughout.

About Time

It's a very adorable movie involving one of my favorite movie things, time travel. Starring that ginger guy that was in Ex Machina and Rachel McAdams.  Yeah there were some plot holes and violations of time travel rules that were mentioned early in the movie by the main character's father but I was willing to overlook these in the name of entertainment.

Miami Vice (film)

I know it'd old. Let me first say I LOVE just about anything Michael Mann does. The Last of the Mohicans, Heat, The Insider, Collateral are all some of my favorite movies. The plot itself is pretty shitty, Colin Farrell was completely miscast, but anytime my guy Mike gets behind the camera I get all hot and bothered. You get it all, choppers, go fast boats, super fast cars, women. The whole nine. Take it at face value, see the film, and enjoy yourself.

These Final Hours. Comet strikes the North Atlantic and there's about 12 hours before the shock wave envelopes the entire planet. Zero chance of survival. Story takes place in Perth on the opposite side of the world. As you might expect, those last 12 hours when you know you're going to die - it's just a matter of how you spend your time and whether you check out early, is pretty grim. But also a really fascinating movie.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.
