Fargo....

i've always known this was a pretty well known movie but had absolutely no idea who was in it, what it was about, anything at all really. but i wanted to watch it so i could watch the new tv series because it looked interesting. let's just say i didn't see it coming. really dark comedy.

You're Requin as portrayed by Brion James and everyone knows it.  Stop rough ridin' around.

I think it depends on what scares an individual.  It is my humble opinion that the best horror movies are the ones that are psychologically fear inducing. Too many movies nowadays rely heavily on sudden moments after long anticipation (ie Paranormal Activity) which I think is a cheap way to get thrills.  Though this argument can be broadly attached to all genres, fear is one of those emotions that everyone experiences but in very different ways.

Other factors to horror movie enjoyment: time of day, who you are with/if you are alone, if the theme could happen in real life.

So I'm sure you know it's a lot of the same dudes from the Big Lebowski.  Anyway the directors have a running joke around how Steve Buscemi's character dies...

Quote
Donny's remains finish a three-movie long Coen brothers joke, where Buscemi's characters get smaller in death. In Miller's Crossing, Buscemi was seen as a dead body, in Fargo a severed leg and in The Big Lebowski he is just ash.

no no and no.  maybe you missed the memo, the choice is between hero tango and hero cash.  requin isn't part of this equation.  do i need to spell everything out for you?

also, how about when cash puts the dummy nade in requin's pants, i was like, NO! then it was just a dud, phew.

Actually have Fargo on the to-watch list with the gf (she's not very well versed in movies). The Buscemi deaths will be something fun to tell her about.
