Is it possible that Bill did not survive his condition last year and they just trotted out a body double? Team just has not been the same since that moment.
there’s definitely some kate middleton energy going on here

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

That article is LOL. The only reason Self wouldn’t “have the stomach” for the current NIL environment is the competition.

Exactly. He's been playing the NIL game since before NIL was allowed. His only problem now is that everyone else can do it.

And the free market has drastically upped the price. Gone are the days of getting a blue chip recruit for a leased Cadillac and 10k in a gym bag.

Self also has run into a more determined cheater in Sampson. That's got to burn.

They will still likely be in the top 4 most years but they won't have a strangle hold on the conference like they have for 3 decades

meaningless exhibition, confirmed:

Even though it sucks to admit it (because we all want to win as many games as possible), sitting out Kevin and Hunter & losing in our 1st game of the Big 12 Tournament was probably the best thing to happen for us in regards to advancing further in the NCAA Tournament. We have no depth even when we are healthy…and chances are that we weren’t going to win the Big 12 Tourney without our studs, so what’s the point in playing our other guys another 40 minutes if we beat Cincy? Instead we have a minimum of 8 days to rest/heal up for the real deal…and let the best coach in college hoops start game planning.

The thing I've admired about Phogistan aka KU T-Shirt Fan Nation is their amazing ability to unilaterally declare when something is or is not a "meaningless exhibition" or declaring that (insert team name here) just got hot and won a basketball tournament.

It's fantastic

No, it's time to turn the lights off, thank the band for its efforts, break down the tents, and let the folks go home. This is a lost season.

Yes, Self should turn down an NCAA invite.

KU's first round matchup against Samford is a tricky one.  Samford presses 24/7/365 apparently.

They're also like 29-5 and won both their regular season title and conference tournament title. I think KU survives but is out in the Round of 32. I'm just surprised we still got a 4 seed.

I thought I saw a committee guy saying they check on injury statuses with teams. I wonder what info they were fed.

The scuttlebutt is that both McCullar (knee bruise) and Dickinson (separated shoulder) are expected to be available. I personally don't understand how you can separate a shoulder and play high-level basketball fewer than 2 weeks later.

Yeah I get being like 22 and having training and meds help but there is a literal practical limit to that

I just listened to Self's press conference from today, and he says Dickinson has been practicing (no contact) the last few days, and tomorrow he'll go full contact. Makes me think that maybe the severity of the injury was exaggerated.

Historically bad season for Self ends with the Hawks lined up to make the S16.
